GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS RECEIVING RADIATION THERAPY

PHYSICIAN VISITS AND DAILY APPOINTMENTS

Please plan to stay after your treatment on Fridays for a brief visit with the physician so they can see how you are doing. Your weight will be obtained before you see the physician. If at anytime you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know. Arrangements can be made for you to see the physician when necessary.

There may be times when your daily appointment time will need to be changed due to emergencies and/or special procedures. We will notify you immediately if there is a change. If for some reason you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible by talking to one of the therapists or calling us at (503) 692-4843.

PRESCRIPTIONS

Whenever possible, please notify us 48 hours in advance for prescription refills. Certain medications cannot be called to the pharmacy and require a handwritten prescription with the physician’s signature. Giving us advance notice will help prevent any delays in getting your necessary medications.

Remember that the effects of the radiation continue for several weeks following treatment, so don’t expect your pre-treatment energy level to return for awhile. If you have had surgery and/or chemotherapy as well as radiation, you may experience a greater decrease in energy over a longer period of time.
